India and Pakistan have long history of conflict going through many wars in the past and currently we are on the verge of another war like situation. Both countries fought wars in 1948, 1965, 1971 & infamous Kargil war in 1999 before current war like situation started in May’25.
The escalating tensions between both the countries have left many feeling anxious and scared on both sides of the borders. Many airports in India have been shut and flights have been cancelled, not only at domestic level but internationally as well. Living under the constant threat of war can have profound psychological effects on the citizens, especially the young generation looking to study abroad for higher education. There have been peace for long in India and the country has been termed as a safe for any international tourists and investments until Pakistan did misadventure in early May’25. Since both the nations have nuclear weapons, the threat can be catastrophic.
Parents want their kids to study in safe and secured environment where they can grow not only in term of education but in every possible way, to be able to succeed in competitive global environment. This is the time when students graduate from Higher secondary or bachelor degrees and look for further study options, especially those who are looking for options abroad. This is perhaps the time when you should explore safer options like, Australia, UK, Canada, NZ or USA. Currently UK and Australia are welcoming international students with open arms and both the countries have great reputation of imparting good quality education since many years with conducive environment for students, especially coming from Indian sub continent. Melbourne has been termed as No. 1 study destination city for many years and London has been crowned the city, home to world class institutions, like Imperial College, LSE.
During conflict there is always an uncertainty about saftly, economy and employment opportunities. Parents often prefer to send their children to countries that are safe and not in any kind of conflict, political or militarily. Studying abroad can be a pathway to permanent residency in countries like Canada, Australia, the UK, or the USA.
When conflict escalates, often people think about immigration and moving to safer pastures. And they tend to follow trends set by friends, family and community members who are already settled abroad.
